Default How do I obtain better armor in PvP?

I just recently bought this game yesterday, im new. I made a pvp only character.

How do I obtain better armor?

I see people walking around in cool armor and it looks bad.

Someone told me to press J. So i did, there are only 4 types of armor/weapons I can create

I cant find anywere to fight monsters or leave town.

I cant find any merchants.

What do i do?

Thanks

Those with the "cool-looking" armour are most likely PvE characters. As a PvP character you are restricted to the armour skins you see in the Equipment Creator, and the inscriptions, insignias and runes you have unlocked by cashing in Balthazar Faction at a Priest.

Just select an empty slot, click Create and go for the Roleplaying option (no actual roleplay required ). You will be restricted to the Elonian designs, however. To get the Tyrian and Canthan ones, you will need the original (Prophecies) and Factions respectively.

When you open Guild Wars you just make a character like you did but instead of PvP choose Role Playing character. Then you got one!

Ive read the manual that came with the game -_-

All it says is about different claasses, controls and exploring

There is like 3 pages on PvP and all it says is how to fight...

There are arenas you can do as you level up, such as the Sunspear Arena in Kamadan. Once you get to level 20 you can do all the big-kid pvp stuff

Well, you must have a different manual than me then because mine has a full and quite detailed chapter on all aspects of PvP starting from page 125 and finishing at 135.

To be honest, Azagoth, the manuals are insanely large (compared to other games).
By the time you`ve made a quick flick-through, you just want to get playing as soon as. =\

I take it you haven't played X3: Reunion, LOMAC and Falcon 4.0: Allied Force then. Those manuals rival War and Peace, and you can hardly start the games without having a good perusal first.

I've read each of the manuals and I've got to say that I, for one, am counting those towards my "read ONE book a year" plan. I'm counting Nightfall's manual as 2007's book. So BOOYA!!!! I don't have to read anything until 2008 (except for the Comics section of the newspaper........Geez, I wish Family Circus would die).

No doubt, like GW they have tutorials. Which is more than can be said for Frontier: Elite II.

Anyways, even I was confused when I found myself at Great Temple on my PvE Warrior.
